Territorial Control

UNDP survey enumerator collecting information from a civilian.

This project addresses a series of core questions in political economy and organizational behavior: which actor/s control the periphery? how do resource endowments shape changes in control during conflict? what are the economic and political impacts of changes in rebel control over territory?

Slides from the most recent seminar talk are here: link.  Project overview  is here: link .

The project leverages district enumerability to understand where actors, collecting data on behalf of or beneficial to the state, might be denied entry by armed actors with local authority.
